Our Patient Portal allows patients to become directly involved in the maintenance and improvement of their health. The portal enables our patients to communicate with our practice easily, safely, and securely over the Internet.
Through the portal you can access important aspects of your child’s medical history including lab results, immunization records, and current medication list. You can request refills and referrals, view upcoming appointment information, and update your demographics.
You can also send your provider routine messages. Please expect 1-2 business days for a response to messages sent through portal. The portal is not for urgent messages and messages are not checked when the office is closed. For time-sensitive matters, please call the office and ask to speak with a nurse. For medical emergencies call 911.
You can sign up for patient portal at your next office visit or we would be happy to activate your child’s account over the phone. Once we have an email address for you on file, you will receive an invitation email with your username and password. (Sometimes emails go into the spam folder so check there if you do not receive a reply.) You will need an individual username for each child you have in our practice. Once you have your user name and temporary password, click the Patient Portal link on our website homepage to get started!
We hope this service is helpful to you, and we look forward to expanding the options available through the patient portal as we move forward.
Medical Advice Line
During business hours, our nurses operate our advice line. As a parent you should use this line if you have a question regarding your child, or if you are uncertain whether you should bring your child into the office to be seen by one of our providers. Our nurses answer these calls regularly throughout the day.
When the office is closed, a physician from our office is always available to answer urgent questions and respond to emergencies. The “on-call” physician may be reached by calling our office at 301-881-7995, or our answering service at 240-638-9735. The physician will return your call as soon as possible, but always within 30 minutes. In the event that you have not received a return call within 30 minutes, please call back, as we may have received an incorrect number or had difficulty getting in touch with you.
We ask that you are considerate and use good judgment in calling after hours. We are happy to respond to your call regarding acute illness or emergency. Non-urgent calls, however, detract from the service we can provide others with urgent concerns.
If you are dealing with a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 for an ambulance or go directly to the closest emergency room. The emergency room physician will communicate with us so that we can coordinate your child’s care. In the event of ingestion of a poisonous or unusual substance, please call the poison control center at (800)-222-1222 immediately. After that you can call our on-call physician.
